She creates fun and humorous stories, and her life long love of animals is evident in most of her work. She and her husband, Jack, have owned a cat, two dogs, and two horses, but as a kid Anne only had a cat, a mouse, and an unfortunate series of turtles. Besides writing and illustrating, she enjoys riding, travel, singing, bread pudding, and laughing with friends until someone snorts.
