Giovanni was born and raised in Naples, one of the most beautiful cities in southern Italy overlooking the Mediterranean. As a young kid, Giovanni was a huge fan of Benito Jacovitti, whom he thinks is the greatest Italian cartoonist. He read Three Men in A Boat and was immediately fascinated by the world of illustration. Ever since, he has always loved to draw and is forever searching for new style combinations and metamorphoses. He has been an upholsterer, salesman, banker, toolmaker, set dresser, and even a fireman. However, becoming an illustrator was the ultimate turning point of his career. Being an illustrator is more than a job, but a feeling of contentment. He is drawn to creating imaginary worlds and capturing unique characters. Giovanni studied fine arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. He is very conscious of clients’ needs and has been working for more than 20 years as an illustrator in Italy and around the world. When not illustrating, he loves spending quality time with his family and Linda Lee, a precious little white dog. Below are some of his recent projects, Turkey vs. Santa by Todd Tarpley by Todd Tarpley (Little Brown Books), Rose Spoke Out: The Story of Rose Schneiderman by Emma Carlson Berne (Apples & Honey Press), 30 calciatori che sono entrati nella storia (Pane e Sale), Summer School by Gavin Biggs (Helbling), IL libro dei Perché’ series (Grillo Parlante), Storie di avventure (Grillo Parlante), Story Design: Innovative STEAM Projects (Sparknotes), Dětská obrázková encyklopedie pro nejmenší (Otto's publishing house), Alla scoperta del mondo! series (Joybook), Too Many Stinkbugs by Debbie Urbanski (Cricket Media).
